“The Jailhouse” is a mysterious thriller, the events of which take place in North Carolina and are connected with the Colton jail. The jailhouse, which hasn’t used more than 30 years, became occupied by the family of a jailer in 1900. They lived on the first floor, while the second floor was meant for prisoners. This is a prehistory of the old jailhouse.
In the time about 2006 the local Sheriff of Colton allows a family of Seth Delray (a newcomer Colton deputy) to stay in the jailhouse without any rent. The Delray family takes his offer with pleasure and intends to live there for a while, until their new house is reconstructed.
The fire at the current jail makes the Sheriff to remove its six criminals into the upper floor of the old jail. This unexpected decision totally changes the quiet life of Delray’s family.
Alongside with the prisoners, there is another threat, terrifying all the lodgers of the jail. The spirits of dead from the past appear within the place and force the present world into total chaos. No one is sure anymore, where he is now and what world is dominating in his mind at the moment.
The plot of “The Jailhouse”, written and directed by Billy Lewis, is well provided by chilling and shocking moments throughout the film.
