Nine friends decide to spend one of their weekends on a private island in Maine. Having stayed in a house, belonging to a Victorian epoch, they uncover there an archaic board game. While drinking and talking, friends find themselves soon deeply involved in the game they have found. But playing the game unleashes the dangerous monster. The evil reveals and awakes in all the players their weakest sides, buried before deep in their consciousness. Lust, greed, jealousy, hatred and rage manifest themselves in their most terrifying way. People, who have been playing the game, can no longer keep in touch in a normal way and start to behave as if they hate each other and soon become dangerous and absolutely uncontrolled.
"The Black Waters of Echo's Pond" opens each player, who has looked into, his own true dreams, but these dreams seem to have nothing in common with the real state of things…
In some way the film reminds the well-known “Jumandji”, based on the similar scenario, concerned with a board game mysteries and horrors.
