A writer from New York, Eddie Morra, faced with a creative stupor. His buddy, wanting to help, gives him a strange pill called NZT. Typically, the human brain is involved in only a few percent, but now Eddie brain has worked to full capacity. He quickly figured out how to earn lots of money and became one of the most well-known brokers on Wall Street. He became interested for Carl Van Len - the richest media-mogul.

However, such a drug, as NZT, cannot doesn't give side effects. Faced with them, Eddie tries to find people who also received NZT. This little investigation reveals a terrible secret "smart pills"...
