“Enter The Void”, the riveting film from director Gaspar Noé, is a thrilling journey through the life of a dying man, who doesn’t want to leave this world.
Linda and her brother Oscar are young people, who have just moved in Tokio. Their jobs are not the ones you would ever dream about: Linda gets a job of a stripper at the local night club, while Oscar starts to work as a drug dealer. The neon club of the Japanese capital becomes the place of dramatic events happening with the main heroes of the film. Once during a police raid Linda’s brother gets shot down. He is dying, but he doesn’t want to and refuses to die, as he remembers his promise given by him to his sister in childhood. He promised he would never leave Linda alone.
Struggling somewhere between life and death, Oscar gets into the maelstrom of memories, recollecting events of past and present, blending with future. And the more he resists leaving this world, the more chaotic, nightmarish and distorted are his memories, visions and thoughts...
The film is called an exceptional work at the Cannes film festival and is considered to be one of the best movies appeared recently. Starring in the film are Paz de la Huerta and Nathaniel Brown.
